About Me

Living the bachelor apartment life in Cornwall, ON without any external antenna capability permitted due to City of Cornwall Lease Agreement so I'm on-the-air with my 1992 Yaesu FT-470 2m/70cm HandiTransceiver and my Comet BNC-24 HT antenna on my night table next to my bed in my 1st floor south facing apartment bedroom window powered by my 1988 Canadian-made 15Amp switching-type power supply with 7Amp Power Port as I do not possess a vehicle at this time.

I have my 2016 Yaesu FT2DR 2m/70cm FM/C4FM YSF (Yaesu System Fusion) with APRS/GPS HandiTransceiver with my 3-band (6m/2m/70cm) 2010 Maldol EX-510B antenna magnetically mounted by my 2015 OPEK Tech AM-1045B NMO powered by my SSD-13 Cigarette Lighter Adapter plugged in to my 2006 Alinco DM-330MVT 10Amp Power Port and my 2020 Yaesu FTM7250D 2m/70cm FM/C4FM YSF (Yaesu System Fusion) Mobile Transceiver for C4FM Digital. I have a Comet SS-680SBNMO 27 inch 2m/70cm 2.15dBi/4.15dBi handling 80 watt Mobile Antenna, Diamond Antenna SPM/NMO 4" diameter Magnet Mount for < 45" tall antennae with 13 foot RG-58A/U Coax and PL-259 connector at my living room window powered by my 2006 Alinco DM-330MVT 30Amp(Constant)/32Amp(Surge) switching-type supply.

My APRS Callsign is VE3XID-7 on my FT2DR which can be followed on APRS.FI (en.aprs.fi/info/a/VE3XID-7) or an APRS program installed on your Microsoft Windows computer, Linux computer or Android smartphone. I also have my 2018 Samsung Galaxy S9 Android phone and installed the APRSDroid app with Callsign VE3XID-5.

I am now using EchoLink Node 219333 with Callsign VE3XID so I can be found splitting my time between *420* Conference Node 66420, *DX-LINK* Conference Node 356937 and *DODROPIN* Conference Node 355800.

About Me

In order to, hopefully, make it easier for people to deal with me I'd like to disclose that I exhibit a set of neurological traits referred to as Asperger's Syndrome. This puts me on the autistic spectrum. Which means I see and interact with the world in ways that are very different than you do. It helps if you think of me kinda like Spock on Star Trek, walking a fine line between rage and cold logic. If I offend, please believe that it is not intentional. If I intend to offend you, well, you are gonna know it for sure. ;)

It also means that I'm just plain weird, I babble alot about crap you don't care about, and most of the time I'm so focused on something that I forget to do the dishes.

BTW, I'm not as sane as I look in that picture. ;)

Currently living in a place that is not big enough for my G5RV, so I'm just using the KX3 indoors for now.

Home station: (So far, * not yet operational for tx, ** out of service)

Alinco DM-330MV

Yaesu FT-60R with an Arrow OSJ or Diamond SRH77CA

Kenwood TS-440S**, LDG AT-100ProII**, MFJ-1778**

Elecraft KX3, Buddistick, Heil Proset iC, with various accociated devices and items for portable and shack use.

(Currently in the shack hooked up to computer for PSK31.)

* Genesis Radio G3020 kit. (Building it.)

About Me

I passed the Basic exam with honours (99%) and I got my call sign (VE3EVB) in February 2014.

I'm interested in reaching out to the community, to know people and to learn from their experience as ham radio operators.

I'm looking forward to building my own "ham shack" from scratch. I'm also rebuilding my electronics lab, having revived my interest in my old hobby of electronics.

Hope to meet many of you in person or over the waves!

Cheers,

Cornel.
