Welcome. I now live in Colborne Ontario. I have been involved in amateur radio since about 1993 but unfortunately, have not been active for many years; I have been working way too many hours and have had no time for anything. I am now retired and have lots of time and am currently rebuilding my station.
My main HF antenna is an end fed 80m dipole tuned with an L match that is controlled remotely at the operating position. (I had success with the same type of antenna years ago but the tree that is was attached to died and fell down sad.) It is simply to erect and tune. I also have an AR10 that is ready to go on 10m
My main HF rig is a Yaesu FT-757GX II and I have a very useful Yaesu FT-857D that I control from my PC. I also have a Swan Mark II amp that is very useful for cutting through the noise that we sometimes get on 80m. I really enjoy the glow of its tubes. smiley
I quite like making stuff, building a few kits and lots of "scratch" built stuff as well. My most recent radio projects have been some simple TRF AM radios, They work very well for what they are and have given me a lot of pleasure listening to them.
On the air, I am not really interested in collecting signal reports. I would prefer a "ragchew".
My morse is very "rusty" at the time of writing (Dec 2014) but I will work at that over time. The best "ragchews" that I have had have been with CW.
73 for now.
